Carla Botella Tejera holds a Ph.D. in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad de Alicante. Her research was on audiovisual intertextual translation. She also holds an MA. in New Technologies Applied to Education and a Diploma in Multilingual Transcreation. She joined CIEE (Council on International Education Exchange) in 2005. She was the academic director for both the Language in Context and Language and Culture programs in Alicante until September 2016, where she has taught Spanish as a foreign language for 10 years. Nowadays, Carla is a Professor at the Translation and Interpreting Department of the Universidad de Alicante and has worked in other Spanish and European universities. These last years her professional and academic activity has been related to creative and audiovisual translation, didactics and accessibility.
Carla is the academic secretary of the Translation and Interpreting Department and the codirector of the Cinema and Audiovisual Club at the University of Alicante.
