Carla Botella Tejera holds a Ph.D. in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad de Alicante. Her research was on audiovisual intertextual translation. She also holds an MA. in New Technologies Applied to Education. She joined CIEE (Council on International Education Exchange) in 2005. She has been the academic director for both the Language in Context and Language and Culture programs in Alicante until September 2016, where she has also taught Spanish as a foreign language for 10 years. Nowadays, Carla is an Assistant Professor at the Translation and Interpreting Department of the Universidad de Alicante and has worked in other Spanish and European universities. These last years her professional and academic activity has been related to creative translation.
