Jorge Soto Almela is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Studies at the University of Alicante, with a teaching and research profile in Applied Linguistics, Translation, and Specialized Discourses. He previously taught in the Modern Languages Department at the Catholic University of Murcia (2012-2019), and in the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Technical University of Madrid (2019-2021). 

His teaching experience is extensive and diverse. He has lectured at the University of Milan and at the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici Carolina Albasio. He has taught courses in English for Specific Purposes, Linguistics, Bilingualism, and Translation at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He collaborates annually with the Department of Linguistic Mediation and Intercultural Studies at the University of Milan, where he has undertaken several research stays. He has also participated as a visiting scholar in a number of university extension and postgraduate courses on translation, specialized communication and applied linguistics organized by the University of Murcia, the Universidad Internacional del Mar, the University of Córdoba and the University of Santiago de Compostela.

Jorge Soto is a strong advocate of research dissemination and of the belief that the studies conducted within the university should transcend academic boundaries and contribute to social and educational progress.
