Jorge Soto Almela is an Associate Professor, qualified as a Full Professor (Profesor Titular), in the Department of English Studies at the University of Alicante. His teaching and research profile fits within the areas of applied linguistics, translation and specialized languages. He previously lectured at the Modern Languages Department at the Catholic University of Murcia (2012-2019), and at the Department of Applied Linguistics at the Technical University of Madrid (2019-2021).
His teaching experience is extensive and varied. He has also lectured at the University of Milan and at the Scuola Superiore per Mediatori Linguistici Carolina Albasio. He has taught specific English, linguistics, bilingualism and translation courses in both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. He annually collaborates with the Dipartimento di Scienze della Mediazione Linguistica e di Studi Interculturali of the University of Milan, where he has completed several research stays. He has participated as a visiting scholar in several university extension and postgraduate courses on translation, specialized communication and applied linguistics organized by the University of Murcia, the Universidad Internacional del Mar, the University of Córdoba and the University of Santiago de Compostela.
