Leonor Ruiz-Gurillo is a Professor of Spanish Linguistics at the University of Alicante. Her research interests include humor, irony, phraseology, spoken Spanish,pragmatics. She leads the GRIALE Research Group since 2002. She has been also the leader of 5 research projects granted by Spanish Ministries and 2 Prometeo project by Generalitat Valenciana.She has published several articles in journals such as Journal of Pragmatics, HUMOR: International Journal of Humor Research, Journal of Spanish Language Teaching, RESLA, Calidoscópio, Lingvisticae Investigationes, European Journal of Humour Research, CLAC, Oralia, RSEL, Verba, RFE, Estudios de Lingüística, LEA, Español Actual, RILCE, Onomázein, Quarderns de Filologia, Especulo, Contextos o Spanish in Context.
