David Pérez-Blázquez is a PhD assistant lecturer in Legal Translation at the University of Alicante (UA), Spain, within the Department of Translation and Interpreting. He has worked as a sworn translator for several years and occasionally collaborates with Cátedra publishers as a literary translator.

Dr. Pérez-Blázquez holds a PhD in Translation from the University of Valladolid (UVa), Spain, as well as a Second-Cycle Undergraduate Degree in Translation and Interpreting (German) and a Master’s Degree in Institutional Translation from the UA. His research focuses on the history of translation, particularly missionary translation in Hispanic America.

He collaborates with the Histrad (UA) and Mhistrad (Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid) research groups, exploring the reception of Hispanic literature in Germany and the history of translation within the Spanish and Hispanic American context. He has also contributed to several research projects on monastic translation led by Professor Antonio Bueno.
