Since 2004, Professor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, UA. Member of the Public Health Research Group since 2006 and Director of the Food and Nutrition Research Group since 2015. She has more than 25 years of teaching experience in public and private universities in Colombia between 1990-2003, as well as in Spain since 2004. Her diversified professional activity of 15 years (1983-1998) in the field of public nutrition has contributed to her understanding and competence in public-nutritional policies. Her experience in Colombia, with the Institute of Social Affairs (ICBF Regional-Caquetá), and the Foundation for Child Nutrition -Nutrir- is especially noteworthy. She also worked in the Secretary of Health of the City Council of Chia, from where she participated in the planning and management of programmes within the framework of health policy, as well as in the direction of the Local Food and Nutrition Plan. Currently, the study of food policies and the quality of the diet form her lines of interest in which she has participated in European R&D research projects (Policy options for responding to the growing challenge from obesity: a cross-national comparative study -PorGrow-2004-2006 and Assessment of POLicy options for MARKeting food and beverages to children -PolMark-2008-2009), as well as in contracts and consultancies with the Ministry of Health and Social Policy and the Ministry of Health of the Valencian Community. He participated as a voice of South America in the NGO Nutrition Without Borders from 2005-2015. Since 2011 he has been a member of the editorial committees of journals specialised in Nutrition such as Perspectivas de Nutrición Humana (Colombia), Revista Española de Nutrición Humana y Dietética (Spain) and Revista DIETS e-journal (Europe). In R&D&I he has contributed to the planning and implementation of the Food and Nutrition Cabinet of the University of Alicante -ALINUA- since 2013. It is a driving centre for innovation in the care and promotion of food and in the prevention of disease, which places the university community at the centre of all its objectives and activities in collaboration with all the research and knowledge transfer structures of the University of Alicante.
