Esther Jesús Ortiz holds a degree on Translation and Interpreting in English, French and Italian. She holds a PhD in Philosophy and Arts (Linguistic Studies) with international mention from the University of Alicante, where she has worked as an Associate Lecturer in the Department of English Studies since 2022. She is a member of the research group Digital Language Learning (DL2), and her research focuses on applied linguistics, translation, video game localisation, the use of ICT in education, second language teaching, and didactic audiovisual translation. She has published book chapters and articles in specialised journals and has participated in numerous national and international conferences.
Professionally, she specialises in economic, commercial and financial translation, as well as scientific and technical translation, with particular focus on patents, and in tourism, gastronomy and event translation.
