Joan-Josep Climent graduated in Mathematics from the University of Valencia in 1982. In 1993 he received a PhD in Mathematics from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. From 1983 to 1991 he was part of the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Polytechnic University of Valencia as Professor in Charge of Course and Professor of University School. He has belonged to the University of Alicante since 1991, where he is Full Professor at the Department of Mathematics, of which he has been director since September 2015. He has been a visiting professor at different foreign universities, among which, Connecticut (USA), Aveiro (Portugal) and Zurich (Switzerland). He has directed 10 doctoral theses and is the author of more than 120 articles in journals and conference proceedings. His current research focuses on coding theory and cryptography.
