Esther Chiner is a Senior Lecturer in the area of Research Methods and Diagnostic Assessment in Education (MIDE) at the University of Alicante (UA). She holds degrees in Psychology (1996) and Education Sciences (1997) from the University of Valencia and earned her Ph.D. with European distinction from UA in 2011, receiving the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. With over two decades of teaching experience in higher education, she has lectured on topics such as Educational Assessment, Diversity and Inclusion, Special Education, and Educational Research. Her teaching portfolio includes courses from the former Psychopedagogy curriculum and the current Master’s in Secondary Education Teacher Training. Dr. Chiner has supervised nearly one hundred master’s theses (TFM) and co-supervised two doctoral dissertations focusing on educational inclusion and gender equality. She leads the Diversity, Education, and Gender (DEG) research group, which operates under the University Research Institute for Gender Studies (IUIEG) at UA. Dr. Chiner holds two official research merits and has authored over 60 publications, many in high-impact journals. Her primary research interests center on the educational and digital inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Dr. Chiner has directed numerous competitive R&D&I projects as well as teaching innovation initiatives. She also participates in international R&D&I projects as a member of research teams or working groups. Additionally, she has served as an evaluator for national R&D&I projects (State Research Agency, AEI) and international initiatives (National Research and Development Agency, ANID). She is an active member of the Interuniversity Association for Pedagogical Research (AIDIPE), where she served as treasurer from 2011 to 2013 and currently holds a board position within the Territorial Delegation of the Valencian Community. She is also a member of the International Association of Special Education (IASE).
