Professor Jose Jacobo Zubcoff Vallejo presents a wide research, teaching and management experience of more than 20 years and his research pursues what he has defined as "democratisation of knowledge", which aims to facilitate access to information and knowledge to anyone. His scientific production is focused on the field of Data Mining and Data Science.  He has more than 100 publications including journal articles, books, book chapters and conference papers. He has supervised 5 doctoral theses and more than 30 Master's and Bachelor's degree theses. He has participated in more than 50 public projects or with companies, with European, national or private funding, being principal investigator of several of these projects. He has worked with researchers from different countries in these projects, both from Europe (France, Italy, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, England) and from other continents (Tanzania, Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cuba, USA, etc.).
 
He has published more than 200 free-format materials available at the University of Alicante Repository, as well as in other repositories (Github, Researchgate, etc.). He has also made Data Science courses freely available on the MOOC platform of the University of Alicante. 

Dr. Zubcoff has supervised 5 doctoral theses (all of them outstanding cum laude) in the fields of Informatics and Marine Sciences and he is currently supervising another Doctoral Thesis in progress. He has four 5-year teaching periods (since 2000) and all positive evaluations in the Docentia program (Highly favorable). He has participated as a researcher or coordinator in numerous conferences and teaching research projects, resulting in numerous publications in this field. He has been Head of the Department of Marine Sciences and Applied Biology for 6 years, from May 2013 to May 2019, and has been Department Secretary for 2 years, from April 2011 to May 2013.

Prof. Zubcoff has a wide experience in coordination and participation in teaching innovation projects (more than 20 projects, 8 times as the Principal Investigator). He also has participated in the project "UNIVERSITY, TEACHING, GENDER AND EQUALITY" which has led to the publication of two practical manuals for teaching with an awareness of equal opportunities.
