Chelo Vargas Sierra earned her Master's Degree in Translation and Interpreting and a PhD in Translation from University of Alicante (UA). In 2008 she was given the extraordinary PhD award by the UA. She has also completed doctoral courses in Computer Applications at the same university, and earned her Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Translation: Localisation, Subtitling and Dubling (2017) from Univerity of Cadiz, and a Master’s Degree in Terminology (2009) from Institute for Applied Linguistics (IULA, Pompeu Fabra University). She is a Professor at the Department of English Studies (UA) and teaches Translation, Terminology and CAT Tools in Graduate and Postgraduate courses (UA, IULA, Menéndez Pelayo International University, Ricardo Palma University, Lima). As a researcher of the groups IULATERM and Inglés Profesional y Académico (Professional and Academic English), her main lines of research for which she has both published several articles and participated in seminars and conferences are: Terminology, Terminography, Corpus Linguistics, Specialized Translation and Computer-Aided Translation.
