He is currently Professor in the Department of Regional Geographical Analysis and Physical Geography in the University of Alicante.

In may 2016, she has the position of Vice-chancelor for quality and educational innovation of this University.

President of the Commission of transparency of the University of Alicante and member of the Ethics Committee at this same University.

His mail research lines are the coastal management in Spain and the geography and geopolitics of the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa), especially the consequences of the occupation of the Palestinian Territories (see Research).
