El grupo dispone de equipos para desarrollar las tareas de investigación, por su integración en el marco de un Instituto de investigación cuya temática se centra en el turismo. Destaca, por su especificidad, la existencia de bases de datos sobre oferta y demanda turísticas en la provincia de Alicante, instrumentos de análisis de destinos turísticos, así como la existencia de un centro de documentación que reune trabajos científico-técnicos sobre planificación y gestión del turismo y bibliografía especializada.
