Marina Ramos has a Second-Cycle Undergraduate Degree (2008) and a PhD (2016) in
Chemistry from the University of Alicante (UA), where she currently holds a permanent
teaching position in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition and Bromatology. She
completed her PhD within the Polymers and Nanomaterials research group, earning the UA
Special Doctoral Award (2019).
She has been a visiting researcher at European universities and companies, including
University College Cork, University of Perugia, Niccolò Cusano University in Rome, and
University of Barcelona. Her research focuses on developing biomaterials with functional
properties for food packaging and optimizing the extraction of high-value biocomposites from
agri-food waste.
She has two recognized six-year research activity periods, 44 publications in high-impact
journals, 67 international conference contributions, 2874 citations, and an h-index of 24
(SCOPUS). She has participated in numerous projects, including four under the EU H-2020
framework, and over 200 collaborations with companies and institutions. As PI, she has led
projects on agricultural waste revalorization and food packaging innovations.
