Graduated in Chemistry from the University of Alicante in September 2016, and holding a Master’s degree in Environmental and Sustainable Chemistry from the same university in September 2017. Between 2016 and 2017, he carried out his Bachelor’s and Master’s theses in the Polymer and Nanomaterials Analysis Research Group, within the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition, and Bromatology at the University of Alicante. His research focused on the development and characterization of inclusion complexes with cyclodextrins for the encapsulation of natural antioxidant/antimicrobial compounds, such as hydroxytyrosol, thymol, and carvacrol, among others. He also worked on the valorization of by-products to obtain high value-added active agents (antioxidants/antimicrobials).

Since January 2018, and within the activities of the Polymer and Nanomaterials Analysis Research Group, he has worked as a predoctoral researcher in the European projects FLEXPOL “Antimicrobial flexible polymers for its use in hospital environments” and ECOFUNCO “Eco sustainable multifunctional biobased coatings with enhanced performance and end of life options,” as well as in the GUACAPACK project “Development of compostable packaging with oxygen barrier properties from avocado residues,” funded by the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI).

He has also pursued doctoral studies in Experimental and Biosanitary Sciences under the line of Sustainable Analytical Chemistry, under the supervision of Professors D. Alfonso Jimenez Migallón and Dña. María del Carmen Garrigós Selva. His thesis focused on the valorization of agro-industrial residues of Cyperus esculentus and its tubers. During his PhD, he conducted a research stay at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Perugia (Italy).

Currently, he holds a position as Associate Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Nutrition, and Bromatology at the University of Alicante. He also works as a junior researcher in the research activities of the Polymer and Nanomaterials Analysis Research Group.
