He worked as a midwife in the Valencian Community before entering the academic field. With 16 years of university teaching experience (>2300 teaching hours), he has been responsible for 5 courses at both the undergraduate and master's levels and has participated in 10 educational innovation projects. His teaching highlights include undergraduate courses in 'Maternal and Child Nursing' and 'Care for Mother and Child.' In the master's program, he has taught courses in 'Obstetric-Gynecological, Neonatal, and Pediatric Emergencies' and supervised numerous academic projects. He coordinates the Master's in Health Sciences Research at his university and is a member of the Quality Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences.

His research, with 2 accredited research periods, focuses on maternal and child care and parenthood. He has been involved in projects related to breastfeeding in the clinical setting and, at the University of Alicante, has contributed to the development of outcome measurement tools from the patient's perspective (PROM). Currently, he is working on evaluating professional interventions during the breastfeeding period, in collaboration with professional (IHAN) and civic (HQTQ) associations, with a citizen science approach.

His publications cover various areas, primarily focusing on parenthood, childbirth, breastfeeding, and the development and adaptation of measurement tools. Firstly, he has published various works focused on the development and validation of instruments for measuring various aspects related to parenthood and breastfeeding, such as parental competence, attitudes toward infant feeding, breastfeeding self-efficacy, postnatal attachment, among others. Secondly, he has published studies exploring predictors of the childbirth experience or factors related to premature cessation of breastfeeding. Additionally, he has authored publications related to intervention evaluation and health outcome assessment, using advanced techniques such as machine learning. His use of electronic health records to estimate infant feeding indicators is noteworthy. Finally, he has produced a series of publications on various aspects of parenthood, such as the father-child bond, dyadic adjustment, and quality of life. He also has publications on the influence of factors such as postnatal depression and parental stress on perceptions of infant vulnerability, parental competence, or infant feeding styles.
