Andreu Nolasco Bonmatí holds a Doctorate in Mathematical Sciences (University of Valencia, 1986) and since 1984 he belongs to the Department of Community Nursing, Preventive Medicine and Public Health and History of Science at the University of Alicante (UA). He has been teaching and researching full time since its incorporation. He has held teaching positions as Lecturer in Charge of Course (until 1987), Full Lecturer of University School (until 1993), and Full Lecturer of University (until 2017) and Professor of University (until today).
He has taught in subjects related to his profile (Biostatistics, Public Health, Research Methodology, Computer Methods, Community Nursing, Community Nutrition, Demography, etc.) in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Health Sciences (Nursing, Nutrition, Several official masters and own). He has taught numerous postgraduate courses in various health institutions (Universities, Schools of Health Administration, Professional Societies, ...).
From 1988 to the present he has been participating continuously in the doctorate organized by his Department and by the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Alicante, where he has worked in various lines of research such as Mortality Analysis, Geography Health Statistics, Health Surveys, Demography and Health, Health Inequalities, etc.
He has directed more than 20 doctoral theses and has been a principal investigator in more than 12 projects, 7 of them in calls for the National Plan (FIS, AES) and in more than 50 specific contracts / agreements between the AU and institutions or companies.
He has published more than 120 scientific articles and 30 books or book chapters. Reviewer of the field of Epidemiology and Public Health and evaluator of the FIS and the National Evaluation and Prospective Agency. Responsible for the research group 'Community Health' of the UA. Member of the 'Joint Research Unit for the analysis of inequalities in health and mortality, FISABIO-UNIVERSIDAD DE ALICANTE', by specific collaboration agreement between the Sanitary and Biomedical Research Foundation of the Region of Valencia and the University of Alicante.
He has been a member of the Advisory Committee of the Autonomous Secretariat of the Valencian Health Agency on Strategies in Health and the Technical Committee on health status of the Public Health Information System of the Conselleria de Sanitat de la Generalitat Valenciana
