Amparo Navarro Faure, president of the University of Alicante, is a Professor of Financial and Tax Law at the University of Alicante. She has been Vice President for Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Alicante from 2012 until February 2020. She was the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the same University from 2005 to 2012. She has been a member of the Executive R&D+i Sectoral Committee of CRUE (Spanish University Presidents Council) and Chairwoman of the Spanish Universities Research Management Units Network. She has been Chairwoman of the Financial and Tax Law Lecturers Network since 2017 and Vice President since 2019.

She graduated in Law from the University of Alicante with an outstanding qualification and Special Award, and she holds a PhD in Law from the same University, with a Cum Laude, the highest level of distinction achieved in Spanish universities.

Professor Navarro Faure has made innovative and high quality contributions in the field of Tax Law, Budget Law and Public Expenditure, Consumer Credit Law and Financial Law. She is the author of several monographs in these fields, some of them with pioneering research topics, published by leading publishers: "Aspectos tributarios de la economía sumergida" (1986); "Aspectos jurídico financieros del déficit público" (1993), "El domicilio tributario" (1994), "El Derecho tributario ante el nuevo Derecho contable" (2007) El régimen jurídico financiero de las subvenciones públicas (2010). She is co-author of the manuals "Lecciones de Hacienda Pública", "Introducción al Derecho Tributario" and "El Sistema Impositivo" and "Manual de Derecho presupuestario y de los gastos públicos". She is the coordinator of the Manual de Derecho Financiero y Tributario. Parte General ed. Tirant Lo Blanch. She is the author of more than one hundred publications in prestigious journals in her speciality, both in Spain and abroad.

Dr. Navarro Faure is the principal investigator of seven research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Science and by the Valencia Government, and has participated in up to nine other projects as part of the UA Financial and Tax Law Research Group and the Research Group of the Complutense University of Madrid, some of them financed by the European Commission. She is the principal investigator of three Prometeo projects for groups of research excellence of the Valencian Government. She has also participated in research contracts with the Institute of Fiscal Studies and with the Steuerrecht Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien, in Austria directed by Professor Michael Lang. She has undertaken funded research visits at the Centre for Fiscal and Public Finance Policy Studies at the University Paris I - Pantheon Sorbonne. She has also been a speaker and has submitted papers at the main conferences in the field: IFA (International Fiscal Association), EATP (European Association of Tax Law Professors) and ILADT (Latin American Institute of Tax Law), of which she is a member. She is also a member of the Spanish Association of Financial Law and participates as an associate in the Woman IFA Network.
