Higinio Mora is Full Professor in the area of Computer Architecture and Technology. He works in the Department of Computer Technology and Computation, and he is also a member of the University Institute for Computer Research at the University of Alicante.
He has a degree in Computer Engineering and a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Alicante completed in 1996 and 1997 respectively. His area of expertise is in the area of Computer Architecture and Technology. He obtained the degree of PhD Doctor of Engineering in Computer Science for his research work entitled “Specialized Processor Architectures. Exact Rational Computing” in 2003, with the highest qualification.
His scientific and research activity is focused on the development of computational models and specialized architectures in the field of Internet of Things, the Cloud Computing paradigm, Blockchain technology and architectures for Artificial Intelligence.
He is a founding member of the Applied Intelligent Architectures research group in which he is the main researcher of the Cloud Computing Technologies Lab. The objective of this laboratory is to build a scientific and technological infrastructure to obtain quality results in both basic and applied research. One of its priorities is to respond to society's problems in the field of ICT. To this end, an effort has been made to collaborate with other research groups and to seek relationships with the private sector to generate opportunities for transfer to the productive sector.
In this context, he has led numerous research projects and R&D contracts with companies, developed 4 industrial utility models, numerous innovative software solutions and 4 patents (P201101362; P201400648; P201531549; P201630638). Currently, 3 of these patents are being exploited by an international company that exports this key technology for digital transformation to large companies in the field of transaction management, means of payment and Cloud Computing technology.
As a result of this work, he has produced more than 250 scientific publications. More than 100 contributions are in JCR impact factor journals. Publication decisions are based on quality criteria, reaching 80% of publications in journals in the first two quartiles (Q1 and Q2) in his area. In addition, he has supervised 12 doctoral theses, all of them obtaining the maximum qualification.
Finally, it is worth noting that from 2022 he was one of the most cited researchers in the world in the field of "Information & Communication Technologies" according to Elsevier Data Repository.
