Marta Monllor Jiménez holds a PhD in Interdisciplinary Gender Studies, with an Industrial Doctorate distinction. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Diploma in Social Work from the Faculty of Business and Economic Sciences at the University of Alicante. She also holds an official Master’s degree in Applied Social Research from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where her research focused on the relational vulnerability of women victims of gender-based violence. She has completed diverse postgraduate training in Gender-Based Violence, Foundation Management, Social Services, and Children’s Rights.
From 2001 to 2009, she served as Head of the Specialized Social Care Area of the Government of Andorra, collaborating with international organizations on gender and human rights issues. During this period, she was a member of the CDEG of the Council of Europe (2003–2009); participated in the first negotiation tables of CAHVIO, the committee that drafted the Istanbul Convention; and took part in several ministerial conferences on women’s rights of the Council of Europe, as well as in the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), contributing to research and reports on women’s human rights.
From April 2011 to February 2017, she was Project Coordinator and Technical Director of the ASPACIA Foundation for Coexistence, and served as the focal point of the organization Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE) from June 2015 to March 2017. She worked as a civil servant Equality Officer within the Valencian Network of Equality Officers at the Ibi City Council (2017–2025), participating in the European project “Creative Spirits.”
She has served as a speaker before the Equality Commission of the Spanish Senate, in the Study Panel for the development of strategies against gender-based violence, session of May 22, 2017. Her presentation addressed the need for legislative reform to recognize the right to protection and comprehensive care for women victims of sexual violence.
In 2018, she was part of the rapporteur team of the conference and synergy network: “A Common Voice Towards a World Without GBV – Intervention Mechanisms and Good Practice Models on Gender-Based Violence,” EEA/Norway Grants.
She was an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology I at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Alicante from November 2017 to June 2025.
She was also an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Organizational Analysis at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Barcelona (UB). She taught in the Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology at the Faculty of Law the compulsory courses “Sexual and Gender Delinquency” and the sociological component of “Victimology” during the academic years 2009–2010 and 2010–2011.
She taught in the postgraduate program “Prevention, Detection, and Care of Gender-Based Violence,” CU La Salle–Grupo5–Aspacia (editions 2011–2017).
She has been an Academic Collaborator at ESADE Business School in Barcelona, teaching Sociology in the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
