Degree in Biology from the University of Alicante and PhD from the University of Alicante. She is currently a Professor in the Department of General Didactics and Specific Didactics of the University of Alicante in the area of Didactics of Experimental Sciences.

She has two five-year teaching periods and a six-year research period from the CNAI (ANECA).

She teaches in the Degree of Teacher in Early Childhood Education, in the Degree in Teacher in Primary Education, and in the Master's Degree in Teaching Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Language Teaching (Specialty Biology and Geology) since 2011, teaching subjects in the Area of Didactics of Experimental Sciences.

She has been a member of the UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF PHYSICS APPLIED TO SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (IUFACyT) since 2017, a member of the research group DIDACTICS OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY since 2012, and A member of the VERTEBRATES ZOOLOGY Research Group from 2007 to 2012.

She has participated in 25 competitive R+D+I projects, three of them being European (European Commission) and being PI in two of them. She has participated in 22 projects or contracts with private entities, being the responsible researcher in four of them.

She has participated in 17 teaching innovation projects at the University of Alicante, four of which she has been the leading researcher.

She is the author of 14 articles published in scientific journals, including in the JCR, SCOPUS, SJR, and Latindex. She is also the author of 36 book chapters, 24 indexed in the Web of Science, and two books. She has presented more than 70 communications in international congresses and 4 in national congresses.

Currently, the main lines of research are based on the teaching of science through inquiry (or problematized science teaching) in the training of future teachers of Early Childhood and Primary Education, as well as active teachers. She also works within this same line of research with Early Childhood and Primary Education schools (and their students) and in improving problematized science teaching in the Secondary and University stages. Within these lines, she has been co-director of three doctoral theses and is co-director of another doctoral dissertation in progress.
