Eva María Llorens Simón holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting (English) and a PhD in Philosophy and Letters (Modern Languages and Literatures). She is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Alicante (UA), where she currently serves as Academic Secretary of the Department of English Philology. She has previously held the position of Academic Secretary at IULMA (Interuniversity Institute of Modern Applied Languages), acts as PAT Coordinator for the BA in English Studies, and was formerly Director of the Radio Frequency Motions programme promoted by the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with Radio UA.
Her research focuses on corpus linguistics and cognitive linguistics, with particular emphasis on the study of emotions, affect, persuasion, and related phenomena in specialised discourse.
She is a member of the CLIC-D research group (formerly IPA: Corpus and Languages of Specialised English for Digital Communication) and of the technological accreditation group on collaborative terminology and translation (TETRACOLA). Part of her research activity is carried out within the framework of IULMA.
She teaches English language, English for Specific Purposes (ESP), general translation and specialised translation across a range of undergraduate programmes at the University of Alicante, including the BA in English Studies, the BA in Translation and Interpreting, the double degree in Tourism and Business Administration, the BA in Advertising and Public Relations, and the BA in Education. She has also served on the organising committees of several academic conferences and workshops, including the Second Workshop on Transition to the Profession of Translator and Interpreter (2012), the 13th International RITERM Symposium (2013), the 5th International Conference on Corpus Linguistics (2013), the 34th AESLA International Conference (2016), the 18th AETER Conference (2018), and the 3rd International Entretextos Conference (2021).
In addition to her academic work, she has been Head of Corporate Communication, Branding and Outreach at Grup Arsala (Barcelona). She has also worked extensively as a content writer, translator, sworn translator and interpreter, corporate communication facilitator, and contributor to various online publications. She has experience in international trade and has regularly collaborated with several business groups.
