José Manuel Iñesta Quereda is a graduate and PhD in Physics from the University of Valencia, degrees he obtained in 1987 and 1994, respectively. From 1987 to 1992 he worked as an analyst-programmer at General ASDE, S.A. in Valencia, where he worked on the design and development of computer application applications in medicine and psychology. These applications include expert systems for audio-prosthetic diagnostics, food analysis systems or the development of the psycho-technical test for drivers, Driver-Test.
He joined the academic world in 1990, beginning his doctoral thesis in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valencia, finishing it in the Faculty of Physics, on the use of computer vision and pattern recognition tools for morphometric analysis. He joined the Jaume I University in Castellón (where he taught between 1991 and 1998) and then to Alicante (1998 to present). He was associate professor since 1997 and since 2002 is full professor of the Department of Computer Languages and Systems. He was Deputy Director of this department between 2002 and 2005, and its Head of Department between 2005 and 2009.
