Claudia Grümpel is Full Professor, PhD in Philology from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset in Madrid, and Translator from the University of Heidelberg. She has been principal investigator of the European project L3 Task, funded by the European Commission, focusing on online linguistic and intercultural exchanges between a consortium of universities in Spain, Germany and Austria. Subsequently, she has extended this line of research to include the study of images, as a visiting researcher at the University of Tübingen.

Her research focuses on applied linguistics and foreign language acquisition, with special attention to the teaching of German as a foreign language, discourse analysis and image analysis in digital environments. She has participated in international and national research projects in Spain and Germany, and has published in various lines of research in renowned and prestigious publishing houses.

She is accredited in all academic categories by the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA).

She lectures in undergraduate, master's and postgraduate courses in the fields of Philology, Translation and Interpreting, and Tourism.
