Doctor in Sociology, receiving the extraordinary Doctorate award, professor and researcher in Development Cooperation in the Department of Applied Economic Analysis and academic director of the Interuniversity Master in Development Cooperation (MCAD) of the University of Alicante. He is a researcher at the Institute of International Economics (IEI) and at the University Institute of Social Studies of Latin America (IUESAL) of the UA.

He has directed the Permanent Observatory of Immigration of the UA, attached to the University Headquarters, being a researcher at the IDHIL (Institute of higher studies of the international action of cities and local governments), linked to the UNDP and at the UITC (International University Tierra Ciudadana) assigned in Spain to the Tierra Ciudadana Chair of the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He has taught and teaches master's and postgraduate courses at around twenty universities throughout Spain in disciplines of development cooperation, migration and solidarity policies, as well as at the Valencian School of Health Studies (EVES) on migration and developmental. He has been part, as an expert, of the Autonomous Observatory for the defense of people in vulnerable situations, while he has also belonged, as an expert, to the Valencian Council of Cooperation for Development of the Generalitat Valenciana and to the High Advisory Council for the development of the 2030 Agenda, of this same Community.

He maintains a sustained line of research focused on development cooperation, the 2030 Agenda, poverty and exclusion, migratory processes and co-development, with a coherent, prolonged and sustained axis of temporal specialization over time. In this way, their research, teaching and dissemination work in these fields of specialization has an impact on the transfer of knowledge to society, to the university itself and particularly to public institutions of different natures, which has resulted in the provision of technical advice. specialized for the Secretary of State for Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for the FEMP, regional and municipal governments, in the evaluation of competitive public projects, in the preparation of parliamentary bills, as well as in institutional opinions for different subnational governments .

He has also participated as an expert before the Congress of Deputies in the processing of laws and institutional documents on development cooperation, directing investigations and participating in activities on poverty, migration and development for the Ombudsman of the Valencian Community. This research work nourishes the content of master's and postgraduate courses in which he participates, with some of his books and articles being bibliographic references in academic programs at different universities.

Author of a dozen books and another fifty as co-author, he has a good number of articles published in indexed scientific journals, along with several hundred informative articles in national and regional magazines and newspapers. Among others, he is part of the network of experts of the newspaper El País in its Planeta Futuro section, where he has been publishing different analyzes on the topics that focus his studies.
