Professor of Contemporary Literature at the University of Alicante, she holds degrees in Catalan Studies (1998) and English Studies (2003; Extraordinary Degree Award), and a PhD in Catalan Studies (2008). She has held various management positions, including Head of the Department of Catalan Philology (UA, 2015–2019) and Vice-Dean for Research, Promotion, Culture and Library Services at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (UA, 2009–2014). She teaches Contemporary Catalan Literature, Children’s and Young Adult Literature and Didactics of Literature, among others. Likewise, she is a member of the Valencian Academy of Language, a statutory body of the Valencian Government with authority over regulations and everything related to the language and culture of the Valencian Country, and of the Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Studies. Regarding her lines of research, she has specialised in autobiographical literature, Gender Studies and Cultural Studies, which include and the role of social networks in the dissemination of literature and the construction of the non-academic canon. In the first field, she has been part of several research projects in autobiographical literature (“Autobiographical forms in contemporary Catalan literature”, “Diaries and canon”, “Knowledge of the other: biographies and portraits in twentieth century Catalan literature”) and has participated in numerous books; for example, the volume Aproximació l’altre / An approach to the other. Biografies, semblances i retrats / Biographies, resemblances and portraits (John Benjamins, 2015). Regarding the second research area, she is currently the Principal Investigator (PI), together with Dr Anna Esteve, of the project “Gender and Autofiction in Contemporary Catalan Prose Written by Women (2010–2020)”, PID2024-160371NB-I00, finançat per MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 i per FEDER, UE. Also, her research in literature from a gender literary criticism has resulted in a PhD and several publications, including the two monographs Feminisme i literatura: L’hora violeta, de Montserrat Roig (Arola, 2010) and Montserrat Roig: feminisme, testimoni i memòria (Publicacions de l’Abadia de Montserrat, 2012); the latter was awarded the Prize for Linguistic and Literary Studies at the 12th Critics Awards of the Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Studies (2014). She has also authored book chapters like “The Turbid Azure of Being Three Times a Rebel: Commitment and Identity in the Works of M. Aurèlia Capmany, Montserrat Roig and M. Mercè Marçal” (Springer, 2019). In the third field, she has participated as a researcher in the project “Virtual spaces for the promotion of books and reading. Formulation of indicators to assess their quality and effectiveness” and “The non-academic literary canon: construction, characteristics, people responsible, selection and reception in virtual public epitexts", with studies such as “La literatura a Twitter. Estudi del cas# Diadelllibre” (Zeitschrift für Katalanistik 32, 2019), “Twitter como herramienta para promocionar la lectura” (Ed. Síntesis, 2018) and “Dialogic Creation of the Popular Canon and Social Capital on Twitter” (Bulletin of Hispanic Studies, 98.10, 2021). She has also been an advisor to the Fundació pel Llibre i la Lectura in the design of the Pla Valencià de Lectura of the Valencian Government.
