Ceneida Fernández holds a degree in Mathematics (2006) from the University of Alicante and a PhD in Didactic Training and Research: Didactics of Mathematics from the University of Alicante (2010). Professor at the University of Alicante (2024-present).
She is part of the Research Group in Didactics of Mathematics (GIDIMAT-UA) and her research is linked to two lines of research: (1) mathematics teachers learning with emphasis on the characterization of the development of professional skills such as the the professional noticing skill and (2) research on the understanding of rational numbers, ratio and proportion concepts in Primary and Secondary Education. The results of this research have been published in journals indexed in Web of Science, Scopus, and in different monographs published by international publishers (Springer, and Sense Publishers). In addition, they have also been presented at national and international conferences such as PME, CERME, ICME, SEIEM.
She has been principal investigator and collaborator in regional, national and European research projects linked to the lines of research. She has also coordinated and participated in teaching innovation projects.
