Jordi Esteve Girbés is an assistant lecturer in Administrative Law at the University of Alicante, where he earned an Undergraduate Degree in Law, a Master’s Degree in Legal Practice (2016-2018) and a Master’s Degree in Tort Law (2019-2020), having received a Special Award for all three degrees.
He also completed an Expert Course in Administrative Litigation at the Spanish Distance Education University (UNED) and a First-Cycle Undergraduate Degree in Nursing. In 2025 he obtained a PhD in Law with a thesis on Governmental liability, which was awarded a grade of Excellent and a cum laude distinction by unanimous decision from the PhD panel. The panel members were professor Tomás-Ramón Fernández Rodríguez, Margarita Beladiez Rojo (legal adviser to the Spanish Constitutional Court and currently a judge in the Third Chamber of the Spanish Supreme Court) and Portuguese Catholic University professor Mario Aroso de Almeida.
The thesis has been awarded ex aequo with the Eduardo García de Enterría Prize 2024, granted by the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies under the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice, and Relations with the Courts of Spain.
Mr Esteve has been a visiting researcher at Fordham University in New York, where he conducted research in tort law and Governmental liability, and is now a member of the UA Research Group in Environmental Law.
Due to his specialised training, his research focuses on, among others, public sphere liability and liability in medical and healthcare settings. He has several scientific publications and contributions to national and international conferences in these fields.
He has taught on the Undergraduate Degree in Criminology, the Undergraduate Degree in Geography and Land Use Planning, the Master’s Degree in Environmental and Sustainability Law and the Master’s Degree in Tort Law.
