Isabel Espinosa Zaragoza is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English Philology. She holds a degree in English Philology (2009–2014, Extraordinary Award), a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education Teaching, Vocational Training and Language Teaching (2014–2015), and a Master’s Degree in English and Spanish for Specific Purposes (2015–2016, Extraordinary Award). She obtained her PhD in Philosophy and Arts, Linguistic Studies branch (2017–2022, summa cum laude, Extraordinary Award) at the University of Alicante. She was granted a predoctoral fellowship from the University of Alicante Research and Knowledge Transfer Office (2018–2022) to conduct her research at the same institution.
She worked as a Senior Research Fellow at CENID in the CLEARTEXT R&D project <<TED2021-130707B-I00>>, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR. She also collaborated as a Senior Research Fellow in the NL4DISMIS: Natural Language Technologies for dealing with dis- and misinformation (CIPROM/2021/021).
Her main research interests include lexicology and English for Specific Purposes, with a particular focus on colour terminology, as well as computational linguistics, especially in the fields of easy-to-read text adaptation and accessibility. She has participated in numerous national and international conferences (SEPLN 2025, PICS 2022, AIC 2021, ESSE 2021, among others) and has published articles in prestigious journals (Procesamiento del lenguaje natural, Feminismo/s, Color Culture and Science Journal (CCSJ)) and book chapters with publishers such as Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
