Rocío Diez Ros holds a BA (1999) with a "Grado" (2001) and a PhD in Geography from the University of Alicante (2006). Professor in the area of Didactics of Social Sciences (2002) first in the Department of Human Geography and, since 2011, in the Department of General Didactics and Specific Didactics of the Faculty of Education at the University of Alicante, where she is also Coordinator of the Commission for Gender Equality and Support for Diversity.

Since September 2019, Professor Diez Ros has been the academic coordinator of the Tutorial Action Programme of the University of Alicante at the Institute of Education Sciences (ICE), thus joining the working team of this unit of the UA.

She is also the director of the Research Group on Equality, Gender and Education (IGE) at the University of Alicante (2017), as well as participating in the Research Group on Human Geography (2000).  She is a member of the team of the University Institute of Gender Research and Studies (IUIEG) and the Institute of Social Studies of Latin America (IUESAL). Among the lines of research she has worked on throughout her career, she highlights the Didactics of Social Sciences with a gender perspective, Coeducation, Education for Sustainability or Cooperative Education and cooperativism, all of which she has participated in numerous research projects together with her colleagues from other areas and other universities, in numerous national and international research projects, congresses, seminars and courses.

She has supervised more than 60 final degree/master's degree projects. She has participated in more than 20 teaching innovation projects, coordinating 7 of them: "Inclusion of the Gender Perspective in Didactic Subjects" in 6 calls, and the current EdUArtivistas: a project for social commitment, critical ecofeminism and democratic citizenship in initial teacher training through educational artivism.

Throughout her professional career she has developed numerous local, national and international collaborations, participating in the publication of more than 60 book chapters and 13 articles in indexed journals, related to her lines of research. He has also been a member of the organising and/or scientific committees of more than 15 regional, national and international congresses.

On the other hand, he has made stays in R+D+I centres, such as the Laboratorio de Caracterizaçao e Reciclagem de Residuos (LCRR) do Departamento de Agronomia (DAG) da Universidade Estadual de Maringa (Paraná, Brazil), or in the Incubadora Tecnológica de Cooperativas Populares e emprendimientos solidários da UFPA (Universidade Federal do Parà-BRASIL).
