PhD in Geography, he currently is a professor in the Human Geography Department and a member of the Interuniversity Institute of Geography at the University of Alicante. His teaching and research career has spanned various fields of human geography, at present focusing on rural studies, tourism geography and local development.

He has been a visiting researcher at the University of Leeds (United Kingdom) and the Technical University of Manabí (Ecuador), as well as participating in various transfer projects with Spanish and Latin American entities.

Since 2021 he is academic secretary of the Human Geography Department at the University of Alicante.
