Kristian Alonso Stenberg has a PhD in Mathematical Methods and Modelling in Science and Engineering, an Undergraduate Degree in Sound and Image Engineering in Telecommunications, a First-Cycle Undergraduate Degree in Sound and Image Engineering Technology in Telecommunications and a Master’s Degree (Special Award) in Secondary Teaching (specialisation in Mathematics). He has earned all his degrees from the University of Alicante.
He works as an assistant professor in the Systemics, Cybernetics and Optimisation (SCO) group of the Applied Mathematics Department, at the Polytechnic School of the University of Alicante. He also teaches various subjects in the department.
His research area focuses on general systems theory, complex systems modelling and causal analysis. Specifically, he is developing the Smarta® application, a causal analysis simulator that implements a technique created by his research group. The software can be used to convert a system with large amounts of data into a network of cause-effect relationships, represent an interactive graph of this network and analyse the trends and attractors of the system, among other properties. The applications of this software have been presented at several conferences, both nationally and internationally.
Kristian is author and co-author of several scientific publications related to mathematics, general systems and modelling, as well as of other multidisciplinary works, some of them with a high impact factor. He has also completed an international research visit at the Northeast Normal University’s School of Mathematics and Statistics (Changchun, Jilin Province, P. R. China).
