Miguel Ángel Albujer Lax (pronouns he, his, him) holds a degree in Hispanic Philology (1994–1999) from the University of Alicante. He successfully completed a Master’s degree in English and Spanish as Foreign/Second Languages at the same university (2011–2012), for which he received the Special Master’s Award. He completed his professional training at Hogeschool van Utrecht in the Netherlands. Moreover, he has undertaken specialised training in the teaching of Spanish as an additional language at the Instituto Cervantes.
In his professional career he has worked in various educational institutions in several countries, including Spain, the Netherlands, Austria, and Italy. He has also held coordinating roles in private centres and collaborates with CIEE on study abroad programmes. He has served as a teacher trainer in the field of Spanish language education across different European contexts. Furthermore, he has undertaken teaching placements in Austria, Romania, and China. He is a certified examiner for the DELE diplomas of the Instituto Cervantes, where he has also acted as a teaching placement tutor.
He has published numerous graded readers for Spanish language learners as well as articles on audiovisual competence and inclusive communication. His current doctoral research focuses on the representation of sexual-affective diversity and inclusive language in Spanish as an additional language. Part of this research was carried out at the Università degli Studi di Milano in Italy. Since the 2023/24 academic year, he has held the position of substitute lecturer in Linguistics at the University of Alicante.
