From 2000 to 2007 he worked as a translator, interpreter and language teacher (both in English and German) for Econoce (as staff member) as well as for other companies (as a freelance worker). In 2003, he obtained a Predoctoral research grant (from the UCM), which he resigned due to incompatibility in October of that same year in order to join the teaching staff of the University of Alicante as part time lecturer (Profesor Asociado LOU). In 2007, he obtained the position of tenured Lecturer (Profesor Colaborador) and in 2012 that of an Associate Professor (Profesor Contratado Doctor, no civil servant). Since November of 2018, he holds the position of an Associate Professor (Profesor Titular de Universidad) being now a civil servant. Since 12/14/2009, he holds a PhD in Translation and Interpreting (Summa Cum Laude, by unanimous vote). On 06/30/2006, he obtained the title of Master in Translation (by the Institute of Modern Languages and Translators – UCM), and on 03/17/2003 the Certificate of Pedagogical Aptitude (by the Institute of Education Sciences – UCM). German and Spanish are his mother tongues, and he speaks English at a proficiency level. His editorial translation projects include three editions in the Letras Universales collection (Editorial Cátedra): Historias de los bosques de Viena / El divorcio de Fígaro (2008), in collaboration with Miguel Ángel Vega Cernuda; Don Juan o El amor a la Geometría / Andorra (2012), in collaboration with Isabel Hernández González, and El monasterio de Sendomir / El pobre músico / Escritos sobre Beethoven (in press). In 2020, Mensajero published his Spanish translation Benedicto XVI. Una vida (translated in collaboration with José Manuel Lozano-Gotor Perona), the biography of Joseph Ratzinger written by Peter Seewald. He has also translated the last three yearbooks of the Society of Jesus into German: Jahrbuch der Gesellschaft Jesu 2019 / 2020 / 2021.
