Sandra Abad-Bataller is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Philology at the University of Alicante (Spain). She is currently pursuing her PhD on the integration of emerging technologies in English language teaching, an area in which she combines research and teaching practice.

She holds a degree in English Studies and has also developed part of her career in international contexts. In the Czech Republic, she carried out research stays and taught English, experiences that enriched her academic profile with a strong intercultural dimension.

Her research interests focus on the critical application of technological innovations in education, with a particular emphasis on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). She has taken part in international conferences such as TESOL, CILIDI, GLOTECH, liLETRAd, and H-INET, both as a presenter and as a member of scientific and organising committees. She has also contributed to nationally funded research projects.

Her publications include a book chapter with Peter Lang, and she has a forthcoming monograph with Comares. At present, she is a member of the research group Digital Language Learning (DL2) at the University of Alicante, where she collaborates on initiatives related to teaching innovation and the evaluation of technology-mediated learning.
