He has attended hundreds of conferences on his specialisation area, in Spain and abroad, mainly as a guest speaker, and he has also taught and directed courses and seminars on tourism, tourist destination planning, landscape, tourism and tourist area planning, among others.

He has been a member of over 100 PhD panels, at several faculties and higher technical schools at more than 40 universities. He was the chairperson of many of these panels.
