Aimée Torres holds an Undergraduate Degree in Tourism and Business Administration and Management from the University of Alicante, where she was awarded the First Prize for the Best Undergraduate Thesis in Smart Tourism by the Gandia Turisme Intel·ligent Chair at the Universitat Politècnica de València.

She later completed a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics at the same university, graduating with the Special Award for Academic Excellence of her cohort. During this period, she also received the First Prize for the Best Master’s Thesis in Smart Tourism from the Gandia Turisme Intel·ligent Chair and the Second Prize for the Best Master’s Thesis in Tourism awarded by the Pedro Zaragoza Orts Chair at the University of Alicante.

After obtaining her PhD in Economics, she is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Applied Economic Analysis at the University of Alicante and a member of the Research Group on the Economics of Innovation and Artificial Intelligence (ECO-IA). Her main line of research focuses on the role of sectoral specialization—particularly tourism—in economic growth, regional economic convergence, and income inequalities.
