María Baralida Tomás López achieved a degree in Optics and Optometry obtaining the Extraordinary Degree Award and a master's degree in Optometry Advanced and Visual Health with an Academic Excellence Grant by the Generalitat Valenciana at the University of Alicante in 2015 and 2017 respectively.
At the end of the degree and while studying the master's degree, she worked as an optometrist for a year and a half in different optical shops.
Next, María Baralida started to research the study and implementation of methods for non-invasive measurement with a subpixel resolution while doing her Doctoral degree in Physics Applied to Sciences and Technology with a Predoctoral Research Staff Contract conceded by the Generalitat Valenciana and the European Social Fund in the University of Alicante. She defended her doctoral thesis on the 10 of June 2022 obtaining distinction "cum laude".
At the moment, María Baralida is researching in the same line of research and she teaches in subjects related to optics and optometry both in the degree and in the master's.
