Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics. I am a member of the research group "Geodesia por Satélites para la Observación de la Tierra y el Cambio Climático / Satellite Geodesy for Earth Observation and Climate Studies" (SG).

My research primarily concerns physical oceanography, encompassing ocean dynamics and air-sea interaction processes. However, I also have a keen interest in climate, meteorology, and, more broadly, in the study of natural complex systems.

To date, I have published more than 25 articles in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) database. In addition, I have published several book chapters and conference proceedings.

Prior to joining UA, I held postdoctoral positions at IMEDEA (CSIC-UIB) and at Delft University of Technology, for periods of 15 and 30 months, respectively.

In addition, I have served as an external consultant for the Maritime General Directorate of Colombia and participated in projects funded by the World Bank and the Catholic University of Bolivia.

I currently oversee and teach two courses: Fundamentals of Mathematics in Engineering III, which is part of the Civil Engineering degree syllabus; and Mathematical Methods for Aerospace Engineering, part of the Aerospace Engineering degree syllabus. Both courses are an introduction of numerical and statistical methods for engineering students.

Editor of journal Ocean Dynamics (Springer-Nature) since January 2025.
