Dr. Felipe Sánchez-Martínez is Associate Professor at the Department of Software and Computing Systems and member of the European Association for Machine Translation since 2009. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 2008. His main field of research is machine translation and the integration of machine translation in other translation technologies, such computer-aided translation tools based on translation memories. Dr. Sánchez-Martínez is part of the team that is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the Apertium shallow-transfer machine translation platform and co-founder of Prompsit Language Engineering (2006). He has participated in several projects related to translation technologies funded by the Spanish government and the European Union. Most of his undergraduate and graduate teaching involves translation and language technologies.
