Prof. Dr. Aurora Ribes Ribes received her bachelor’s degree in Law (with honours) from the University of Alicante in 1998. She finished her PhD thesis in Tax Law at the University of Alicante in 2002.
Prof. Ribes was the Academic Secretary of the Doctoral School of the University of Alicante from December 2012 to May 2016 and the Director of the Postgraduate Studies Office of the University of Alicante from May 2016 to December 2020.
She is also a member of the Spanish Association of Tax Advisers (AEDAF), European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), International Fiscal Association (IFA) and of the Research Group on R&D&I Taxation in Europe (EURIDTAX).
She is the author of over 100 papers in national and international books and journals. In her research, she focuses on EU and International Tax Law, Tax penalties and Regional taxes. Prof. Ribes has been a visiting researcher at the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (The Netherlands), Boston College (Massachussets, USA), Université Catholique de Louvain (Belgium), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal) and Università degli Studi di Torino (Italia).
Additionally, she has been a visiting professor at various academic institutions –such as Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno (Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia), Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Università degli Studi di Torino (Italy), Università di Bologna (Italy), Universidad Austral (Argentina), Universidad Pompeu Fabra (Spain) and Uniwersytet Jagiellonski (Krakow, Poland)–.
Prof. Ribes has participated in many research projects (regional, national and European) and has been the main researcher of four national research projects/contracts. Moreover, she has participated as speaker in several Conferences at the domestic and international level. Since April 2016 she is a Member of the Commission of Experts to elaborate the tax reform in the Valencian Autonomous Community (Spain).
