After completing a second-cycle undergraduate degree in Physics at the University of Valencia in 2003, she began her doctoral thesis in the Vision and Colour group at the University of Alicante and received her European PhD in 2009. Subsequently, she studied an undergraduate degree in Optics and Optometry at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and a master’s degree in Clinical Optometry and Vision at the University of Alicante. Throughout her professional career she has been linked to the University of Alicante through research contracts associated with different national and European projects, and has combined research and teaching tasks with attendance at national and international conferences, publication in prestigious international journals, participation in research projects, as well as various research stays abroad.
In addition, it is important to point out that as a result of her research work, several types of collaboration have been consolidated with different national (CSIC, CD6, University of Granada) and international (Universidade do Minho, University of Leeds, University of Liverpool, CNAM, PTB) research groups. Contacts and projects for the transfer of knowledge and/or results have also been established with several multinational companies such as SEAT, AkzoNobel, Volkswagen, Cosentino, Roberlo, PPG or BASF.
The lines of research she has worked on are related to colour science and technology, including the following: 1) measurement and evaluation of colour in gonioapparent materials; 2) visual evaluation of the visual and chromatic appearance of special materials; 3) colour management and quality control; 4) comparative analysis of industrial colour gamuts; 5) spectral and colourimetric characterisation of colour reproduction devices.
As far as her teaching tasks are concerned, she has delivered different courses on the Optics and Optometry degree, as well as on the master’s degrees in Advanced Optometry and Vision Sciences and in Colour Technology for the Automotive Sector.
Currently, she is the Chair of the National Colour Committee of the Spanish Society of Optics (SEDOPTICA) director of the University Headquarters of the University of Alicante in Villena.
