Ignacio de Loyola Páez-Ubieta received his B.S. Degree in Robotics Engineering from the University of Alicante in 2020 and his M.S. degree in Automation and Robotics Engineering from the same institution in 2021.

He has worked as Technical Research Assistant and Research Assistant for the Automation, Robotics, and Computer Vision (AUROVA) laboratory in the context of the projects "Mobile manipulation for non-structured outdoor environments (RTI2018-094279-B-I00)" and "Towards greater integration of intelligent robots into society: navigate, recognize and manipulate (PROMETEO/2021/075)".

He is currently working as Research Assistant on the aforementioned group thanks to the project "Autonomous Mobile Robots for Outdoor selective collection of household Waste (PID2021-122685OB-I00)", as well as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alicante.

He started his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering in 2022 at the same university with the specialty of Automation and Robotics in AUROVA laboratory as well. During this period, he has undertaken several research stays at Sorbonne University (Paris, France) under the supervision of Stéphane Doncieux.

He has received numerous awards throughout his academic career, including the National Ranking of Academic Excellence 2020 (thanks to his B.Sc. degree), the Extraordinary Award for the Best Academic Record 2020/2021 (thanks to his M.Sc.) and the NOVA membership (thanks to his early-stage trajectory).

His research interests include robotic grasping and machine learning, with a particular focus on demonstration-based and imitation learning.
