Natalia Norte Fernández-Pacheco is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of English Philology at the University of Alicante and an English teacher at the Official School of Languages. She holds a PhD from the University of Alicante, where she defended the thesis The orchestration of modes and EFL audio-visual comprehension: A multimodal discourse analysis of vodcasts, supervised by Dr Teresa Morell Moll.

Her teaching experience has mainly developed in the fields of English as a foreign language, English for specific purposes and university-level teacher education. At the University of Alicante, she has taught on the Degree in Tourism and the Degree in English Studies, with particular attention to oral communication, multimodal competence and the use of English in academic and professional contexts.

Her research is situated within applied linguistics and multimodal discourse analysis. Her main research interests address multimodality in language teaching and learning, EFL audiovisual comprehension, English as a medium of instruction, digital communication and specialised discourses. She is currently a member of the research group Corpus and Languages for Specialised English and Digital Communication (CLIC-D), affiliated with the Inter-University Institute of Applied Modern Languages at the University of Alicante.

She has published in specialised journals such as Journal of English for Academic Purposes, Multimodal Communication, Language Value, RESLA and Revista de Lenguas para Fines Específicos. She has also contributed chapters to international publishers such as Routledge. Her recent research extends this line of work towards the analysis of digital tourism, educational and biomedical discourses, with a focus on multimodal resources, linguistic evaluation, interaction and the discursive construction of meaning.
