Professor of Spanish Language in the Department of Spanish Philology at the University of Alicante. She has worked on rhetoric and discourse and, in general, on various aspects of textuality and grammatical and pragmatic analysis of Spanish, the result of which is her book Análisis de textos en español. Teoría y práctica (2008). She is co-editor of the volume Intercultural Business Communication and Simulation and Gaming Methodology (2009), Peter Lang, which received the "First Researching Award Enrique Alcaraz" granted by AELFE in 2010. She is editor of the journals Acta Universitaria (U. of Guanajuato), Circula (U. of Sheerbroke-Canada) and Discurso y Sociedad. She is a member of the Instituto Universitario de Lenguas Modernas Aplicadas (IULMA), which works on specialised languages. In this line are publications such as "El discurso académico de las ciencias económicas: aproximación crítica a las estrategias de valoración"(2014), in RIL, in collaboration with MI Santamaría and JJ Martínez (2015): Diccionario del turrón, editorial LID and she is co-author with Ana Pano of the chapter "Análisis del Discurso y EFE" for The Routledge Handbook of Spanish for Specific Purposes (2021). Since 2013, she has been a member of the international research group CIRCULA, which works on Linguistic Ideologies in the Press. She has been Principal Researcher of the R&D Project funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness FFI2015-65917-P, "Metalinguistic discourse in the Spanish press (1940-today). Multidimensional analysis and generic characterisation. METAPRES". In this last topic he has recently published: "La lengua y las lenguas. Imaginarios lingüísticos sobre la diversidad en la España contemporánea", REA, (2019); "Prescribir en tiempos revueltos: autoridad y norma lingüística en las columnas sobre la lengua (CSL) de la transición española. Luis Calvo (ABC, 1981-1984)", BRAE [in press]. She is co-editor, together with M. Isabel Santamaría, of the volume Ideologías sobre la lengua y medios de comunicación escritos. Madrid, Arco/ Libros (2019), co-editor with Susana Guerrero of the monograph of the journal TEP "Discurso metalingüístico e ideologías en el periodismo de opinión" (2020) and with Sabine Schwarze of the volume Authoritative discourse in language columns: linguistic, ideological and social issues, Peter Lang, 2021. He is currently PI of the R&D Project 2019-107265GB-I00 (2020-2023) "El columnismo lingüístico en la prensa española desde sus orígenes. Multidimensional analysis, characterisation and applications" (METAPRES-COLING).
