Full professor of Regional Geographical Analysis and Director of the Institute of Tourism Research at the University of Alicante. He holds a PhD in Geography and a Master's degree in Tourism.Throughout his professional career he has combined management responsibilities in Public Administrations (Head of the Planning Department of the Valencian Tourism Board and Director of the Valencian Institute of Tourism Technologies -Invat.tur-) with his preferential focus on the academic field. Currently, in addition to his teaching functions, he develops his research in the field of planning and management of tourist destinations with particular emphasis on aspects such as strategy, sustainability and innovation. He has coordinated several national and international research projects and has numerous scientific publications in books and academic journals.
