Albert Guijarro received his B.Sc. from the University of Barcelona in 1991 and his PhD from the University of Alicante in 1995. He then spent three years at the University of Nebraska in the USA before returning to Alicante, where he became Ramón y Cajal research fellow, Associate Professor in 2003 and Full Professor in 2017. His current research interests are in the field of organic materials and physical-organic chemistry, specifically in the study of 2D and 3D polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, superconducting materials, highly reduced anionic pi-electron systems, electron transfer, studies on reactivity and chirality. In addition to his academic duties in Alicante, he is a research member of the ISO (University Institute of Organic Synthesis) and co-founder of MEDALCHEMY, S.L.
