Professor of University at the University of Alicante. He has a Bachelor's Degree and a Doctor of Science Chemistry by the University of Valencia. He has lectured practically in all the disciplines of Chemical Engineering, in studies of Bachelor of Chemical Sciences, Chemical Engineer (Degree and Master) and in Doctoral Programs. Within these subjects, are those related to Chemical Reactor Engineering and Biochemical Engineering.

He has published more than 175 research papers in indexed journals, directed 18 PhDs, presented more than 135 communications to Congresses, has participated / directed more 70 R + D projects, and has 5 patents, one of them in operation. H Index: 39.

The pyrolysis and / or combustion of almond shells, cellulose, lignin, polyethylene, polyurethanes, PET, sludge, tires, meat flours, urban solid waste, vehicle waste, polyurethane mattresses, furniture waste, etc. have been studied. The kinetic aspects of the primary decomposition and cracking of tars have been studied, and also in determining the yields of the majority products formed (carbon oxides, hydrocarbons, volatile and semi-volatile) and especially in possible toxic products that can be formed , such as PAHs (polyaromatic hydrocarbons), PCDD / Fs-PBDD (polychloro-bromo dibenzo/dioxins / furans), PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) and polychlorobenzene precursors, polybromobenzenes, polychlorophenols and polybromophenols. The objective of these studies has been to determine the possibility of obtaining chemical products and / or energy from these residues, analyzing the formation of pollutants.
-Other research topics within the Chemical Engineering- Industrial Chemistry are: Characterization of the hazardous wastes (metals and organic pollutants), Composting of sewage sludge with determination of PCDD/Fs, Solid-fluid separation (engineering design of settlers and cake filters), Determination of odor tracer compounds in landfills (sulfur of hydrogen, ammonia, organic compounds), Obtaining combustion briquettes from almond shells, polyurethane mattresses and furniture residues, Removal of heavy metals and water in waste oils, Drying of sludge. He has participated in projects to obtain activated carbon in a multistage fluidized bed reactor and analysis of thermal radiation.
