Engineer in Computer Science (University of Alicante, 1994) and PhD in Computer Science (University of Alicante, 2004). Since 1994 she has been working as a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Alicante, where she is full professor since 2008. She has held the position of Deputy Head of Computer Engineering of the Polytechnic School between 2009 and 2012, and deputy director of the Polytechnic School between 2012 and 2013. During her period as Deputy Head of Computer Engineering, she coordinated the implementation of the new curriculum for the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, as well as the development and implementation of the curriculum for the Master's Degree in Computer Engineering. Her teaching focuses mainly on computer programming and artificial intelligence. She belongs to the Instituto Universitario de Investigación Informática and is a member of the Cátedra Santander-UA de Transformación Digital. Her lines of research are within the application of AI techniques in different fields: evolutionary algorithms to solve mathematical problems and neural networks applied to coastal engineering problems. In addition, she works in the development of video games and application of digital technologies to education. All these lines have a common denominator, which is the use of AI techniques to deal with a wide range of problems. She has publications in these areas and has participated in several research projects. She participates in many educational innovation projects related to the EHEA and is a member of AENUI (Association of University Computer Science Teachers).
