Professor Yolanda Villacampa is a mathematician from Valencia University (Spain). She received her PhD in Mathematics from the University of Valencia (Spain) in 1993. Currently, she is Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Alicante University (Polytechnic University College), Spain. She is the director of the research group of University of Alicante "Mathematical Modelling of Systems”. The main research interests are modelling methodologies for modelling complex systems, representation models for modelling complex systems using finite elements, splines, etc., computational algorithms for modelling systems and systems described by differential equations. Currently, she is co-author of many papers including in international journals, and papers included in international conference's proceedings, and she has been the conference chairman in several conferences. She has participated in several research projects and has been the main researcher and the person in charge in ten of them. She has received the degree of Fellow of Wessex Institute of Technology, Great Britain (Recognition in Computational Engineering) in October, 2001. She is professor of postgraduate degree courses in the Applied Mathematic Department of Alicante University and she is professor of the international postgraduate degree courses between the Ancona University (Italy) and the Alicante University. She has directed several doctoral thesis. She has been involved in several research and development agreements between the Alicante University and the “Diputación Provincial de Alicante” (Alicante, Spain) and companies."
