Dr. José F. Vicent has a degree in Physical Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in Automatic Calculation, and a PhD in Computer Engineering and Computing from the University of Alicante. He is currently a Full Professor of the University of the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Alicante. He is director of the Master's Degree in Data Science as well as of the Analysis and Visualization of data in complex networks (ANVIDA) research group.
He develops, uninterruptedly since he joined the University of Alicante, teaching tasks in undergraduate, engineering, degrees, doctoral programs or masters.
His research has been fundamentally developed in the selection, analysis and visualization of information in a complex network, in the application of Artificial Intelligence in the field of urban networks as well as in the modeling and simulation of systems with special attention to evolutionary algorithms. He has participated in numerous research projects, is the author of a large number of scientific articles and specialized books, has participated in numerous scientific program committees, and is editor of one of the most widely distributed journals in the world.
